Chicago’s finest is doing his best to narrow down the schools he is considering playing for. Yes, Cliff Alexander is on the path to success and it seems like he is trying to make his moves as quick as possible. According to ESPN, Alexander is ranked as the No. 2 power forward for the class of 2014. He is currently a junior attending Curie High School.
Since school is out for the summer, Alexander is playing for Mac Irvin Fire, which is coached by Mike Irvin.
The 6 foot 8, 225-pound big man, tweeted Friday morning that he has narrowed down his list to 10 schools. Before now, Alexander had a total of 16 schools recruiting him. The schools he is now considering are Kansas, Michigan St., Kentucky, Louisville, Illinois, DePaul, Indiana, Baylor, Arizona, and of course, the Memphis Tigers.
Alexander will be visiting Kansas on Friday and will be expected to visit Illinois on Saturday.
No sign as to when Alexander will the visit the University of Memphis. No one on the coaching staff for Memphis has spoken on the matter.
There is no need to worry if you are a Memphis Tigers’ fan, because he will be visiting the campus sooner or later. It will just come down to Alexander liking the campus, the basketball program, and the environment. These are some heavyweight schools going after Alexander. Josh Pastner will have to come with his A-game and stump over the other coaches if he wants to nail a skillful big man like Alexander.
