Cinmeon Bowers commits to Florida State/Jeff Newberry will not visit Memphis

The 6-6 power forward from Chipola College in Florida had a change of heart about the University of Memphis. At first, Memphis was the frontrunner for Bowers’ services, but now it is a different story. Memphis will not be getting Bowers as a big man in the paint for the 2014 recruiting class. On Tuesday, he committed to Florida State.

“Just committed to Florida State!” Bowers tweeted.

Last season, he averaged 11 points and seven rebounds. He was considered as the best player to come out of junior college. Coach Pastner definitely loves to go after JUCO players. Look at what he has done with Geron Johnson. Johnson has become one of the main pieces to the Tigers. Bowers would have followed in the same direction. The Louisville Cardinals were also in the mix to land Bowers.

JEFF NEWBERRY PUTS MEMPHIS ON THE BACKBURNER

Georgia JUCO player Jeff Newberry broke silence and mentioned that he will not visit the University of Memphis campus. As of right now, there’s no clear answer on why he doesn’t want to make the visit. He was scheduled to take an official visit to the campus on the weekend of Sept. 13. The news broke right after Dominic Magee committed to the Tigers on Sunday.

As more news come out, I will provide more information concerning both recruits.
